After a home-cooked spaghetti dinner at my house the climbers started planning for day two of try-outs: The objective will be a long 5.8 route with a bunch of scrambling that goes to the top of the Ophir Needles near Telluride. After that climb three of the climbers will present ideas for projects they would like to realize as part of the Alpine Mentors program in the next two years. I’m extremely curious to know what objectives they’ll choose. -Steve
