Prerequisites.

As of April 1, 2012 you must be:

  • between 21 and 30 years old.
  • With a minimum of 5 years climbing (outside).

Applications can be submitted from now through April 1, 2012.

Alpine Mentors is open to all nationalities. Most activities will take place in North America but may include travel to South America, Europe, and Asia.

 

Recommended technical level.

Rock Climbing

Ability to quickly, consistently and safely lead 5.11 trad rock.

Ice Routes

Ability to safely and quickly lead grade 5 water ice.

Mixed Routes

Ability to safely, quickly and consistently lead trad-M6 mixed climbing.

Ski Touring

Ski touring and ski mountaineering experience is a bonus, but is not necessary.

Alpine Ascents

A minimum of three alpine seasons including experience in multiple mountain ranges.

 

Application Process.

Applications can be submitted from now through April 1, 2012.

Late April

Ten successful applicants will be invited to try-outs in southwest Colorado.

Early June

Tryout period will include a thorough review of climbing safety, self-rescue techniques, a training-lecture, and climbing.

Mid-June

Between 2 and 4 successful applicants will be notified.
